Press vs Blog Writers

banned2Press: the gathering and publishing or broadcasting of news : journalism b: newspapers, periodicals, and often radio and television news broadcasting c: news reporters, publishers, and broadcasters.

The Press are the journalist who get the story to the public as quickly as possible.  They report all sides and to remain neutral.  Their purpose is to report the facts of the story, to be fair and balanced.

Tabloid reporters go with sensationalizing facts to sell the story.  Some blog writers who claim to be the press are no different.  They write with insinuations or inneundos to make their point of view or opinion as fact.  They like to lead us readers to believe that they have the “inside scoop” or the dirty details of all the other players involved.  However, did you notice they never devulge the details? “I got a secret that you don’t know.”  Some might think this is a reader attraction tool but I think if you continuously use it, you are grasping for attention and really don’t have anything.elmer2

Many blogs post a published story and add their comments and opinions.  Others write their story based upon their opinions or from their “sources”.  I noticed it is never stated “reliable source” as a newspaper or television news station will state.

Don’t get me wrong, there are reputable blogs out there but there are more tabloid trash ones.  They are the ones that claim they have the dirt or secrets of a story however, they are miles and miles away from the action.

dollarWhile surfing google, writers can get paid for blog posts.  Several writers post stories and opinions on the same site.  Is the writer or owner receiving the money?  Since so many sit behind the computer all day, how are they earning a living?  Do they also receive kickbacks from the number of views?  I would be interesting in knowing how this works.  Some so called writers are also on forums all day long.  Their bios state they have small children or state “love to blog”.  I have to ask, where are the children?  Who is taking care of them while on the computer all day?  I know most cannot afford to sit in front of the computer all day and still make a living.

Spewing lies and propaganda must be profitable.  Appears there is a cult like control they must have over others.  If you don’t agree with their teachings, you are not welcome in their “click”.internettrolls

Some bloggers are interested in the story at hand, especially if it deals with a crime.  We don’t need to hear what you are wearing or what hole you are burrowing in today.  Just the facts, please, just the facts!

Pickles, I am not sure what you mean by these comments. Could you explain?

I did a search on paid bloggers and came up with articles that stated blog writers could make money. The more words they write, the more money they receive. Also, I have heard that sites can make money from number of hits they receive and also allowing advertisements. I am not sure if all the writers get paid…example…John Smith owns a site and he gets paid for all articles written but he doesn’t write all of them, contributors do. Does John Smith pay the contributors or does he get to pocket any and all monies?

I never did come across anything that pertains to bloggers being paid to bash an opposing side. If this were true, blogging sites would have alot more trouble than they already do. Anyone that was for Casey Anthony’s innocence was accused of being paid. I never understood how they thought that with all of the evidence out there in the open. I don’t think a “paid” blogger would make a dent in public opinion or sway others opinions. They are far outnumbered.

If everyone’s opinion were the same, we would have one boring world. You are always going to find people that don’t see the same thing as you do. It is very evident with witnesses of an incident. They all stood there and saw everything happen, but there are always some that tell a very different story. Is it lying or is it the perception? They believe strongly in how they saw things.

To clarify..not all blog sites pay. Most blog sites are personal sites set up by individuals to voice their opinions.

Some blog sites have advertisements by the host they are powered by, i.e. “powered by google”. If you don’t want their advertisements, you have to pay extra to have them removed. Free is not always free!

I assume the sites that have a variety of advertisements could receive money.
